Charity Affinity Cards

Charity credit cardsCharity affinity cards are issued by banks in partnership with registered charities and offer supporters an easy way to generate extra income for a charity at no direct cost to themselves.

A bank will typically make an initial donation to its charity partner for each affinity card account opened, followed by future payments on a regular basis, linked to how all the affinity cards issued in partnership with the charity are used. For instance, a charity might receive £5 for each affinity card account opened plus up to £1.25 for every £100 spent - all of which is paid by the bank, not by you as a charity affinity credit card holder.

Do charity affinity cards make a difference?

Specific donation details differ by card, depending on what each individual charity has agreed with its partner bank, but one important point is common to all charity affinity cards: what may seem like small amounts of money generated by each individual affinity card holder can - and do - add up to huge totals paid to the charities. Many UK charities have received literally millions of pounds of extra income from their affinity credit cards over the last ten tears. Each individual person's small contribution in applying for and using a charity card forms part of a real and very big overall difference!
