The Nectar loyalty scheme

Launched in 2002, the Nectar loyalty programme is the UK's largest loyalty scheme, with members in more than half of the country's households.

Members can earn Nectar loyalty points at over 5,000 retail sites as well as with many online shops and other service providers. Points can be redeemed for a wide range of rewards, from everyday household products to fantastic holidays. By July 2005, Nectar had issued over £450m worth of rewards to scheme members.

The Nectar credit card

In September 2005, Nectar launched its affinity / co-branded credit card in partnership with American Express. Wherever they shop, Nectar credit card holders earn at least 1 point for every pound that they spend on the card.

When shopping with particating Nectar retailers, card holders earn Nectar points at even faster rates. Known as double-dipping, card holders who shop using the card with participating Nectar retailers will qualify for bonus earning rates, racking up points at a much faster rate than people who use other credit cards. You can apply online for the Nectar credit card - the process takes just 5-10 minutes to complete.

Nectar coverage

By July 2005, Nectar collectors could already earn points on 40% of household expenditure including supermarket shopping, gas and electricity, department store shopping and when buying petrol. Nectar aims to increase its range of partners to cover 70% of household spending.

This excellent and growing coverage makes it easy for members - including new Nectar affinity card holders - to save up points from numerous sources, quickly building up their points balances to qualify for attractive rewards.
